In recent years, researchers at the RICE lab have received several awards, particularly for their work in the field of social robotics. Here is a selected list of accomplishments.

  • 2023: Prose Award from the Association of American Publishers for the book “Transcultural Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Health and Social Care,” authored by Irena Papadopoulos, Christina Koulouglioti, Chris Papadopoulos, Antonio Sgorbissa, Elsevier, in the NURSING AND ALLIED HEALTH section.
  • 2021: Most Sociable Robot Award at the SciRoc 2021 – Smart City Robotics Challenge Challenge, Bologna, 6/9/2021.
  • 2020: CARESSES included among the 100 ITALIAN ROBOTIC & AUTOMATION STORIES in the new report prepared by Fondazione Symbola and Enel, held at Auditorium Enel in Viale Regina Margherita 125, Rome, 5/2/2020.
  • 2019: CARESSES received an Innovation Award at SMAU during the SMAU Roadshow in Genoa, 26/11/2019.
  • 2018: CARESSES technologies recognized by the Innovation Radar of the European Commission: Culturally competent robots for residential and domestic healthcare or other application domains and Cloud services for culturally competent applications.
